looking forward to a lot!

So Mike, who is awesome beyond words, got us tickets to see Maroon 5 in September. (Counting Crows will also be there, as will Augustana, who I just started listening to on Pandora and it’s pretty good.)

*happiness*

And then… there’s THIS. Diablo III! The gameplay video looked so awesome. There was a bit with Deckard Cain when he starts to say, “Stay a while and listen,” and get interrupted midway. Heheheh. And he sighs, “No one ever listens.” Which is probably true. Anyway, the new class, Witch Doctor, looks like a lot of fun. Swarms of locusts? Gruesome pets? Firebombs? Mind altering spells? It’s going to be a long wait till 2010.

espresso crazy

I thought I had my heart set on the Nespresso D290 machine, which brews some damn good espresso. Steve has one of these, so I’ve tried nearly all the different pods he’s got and they are all (except for decaf) delicious. I like this one because it’s extremely neat and does not require much in the way of maintenance. It also does not require any skill in creating the tasty drinks, which is probably the most important feature.

And then I saw some Saeco machines… which are also automatic and easy to clean, and take whole espresso beans. It grinds automagically! So.. there are three models. The Saeco Odea Giro and the very similar Saeco Odea Go and finally, the Saeco Spidem Villa.

Choices, choices… what am I supposed to choose? Any advice? Opinions?

assassin’s thread

You know how in movies/tv shows they always have that hitman/assassin who sneaks up behind someone and strangles them with a thin, retractable metal thread from a small reel in his/her hand? Yeah?

I have one. Actually, I have TWO, except one’s made of flimsy elastic thread.

it’s… summer?

It poured today. I’ve been bundling myself up in a fleece (the MSR fleece they gave the interns is quite snuggly and warm, actually) to go to work this week, despite it being June already… Seattle is chilly. Today it poured. Walking four blocks from the bus stop to my apartment had me completely soaked. The rain was coming down so furiously it was as if I’d stepped into a shower, albeit a low pressure one, but a shower nonetheless.

Where is the warmth of summer? I’m ok with the constant sprinkles and light showers… but cold, pouring rain, thank you, no.
