Advent Children

FFVII: Advent Children - definitely one of the best looking movies I’ve ever seen. Graphics were amazing. Human movements and features so realistic… Pixar really needs to get tips from Squaresoft when it comes to graphics. Ok, so the plot’s not that great… but who’s watching a movie based on a videogame for plot? (Though, because it is based on one of the Final Fantasy games, it does have greater depths and more plot than your average game-to-movie. *cough* resident evil *cough*) Fight scenes were soooo wonderful and riveting. I wish the movie lasted longer.

lyrics: Both Sides Now

“Both Sides Now” has devastatingly beautiful lyrics. So jaded and so true to life. It’s featured in Love Actually as part of the Christmas vignette for Emma Thompson’s character. (Oh, that was such a sad sad scene… The song went so well with it!)

my apartment

Sooo I realize I haven’t posted pics of my apartment yet. Here they are! Keep in mind I took them like… 2 or 3 days after I moved in before I had anything.

( picture time! )

It’s cute and cozy. I like it a lot and I’m enjoying the whole apartment living. I even like cooking sometimes, except I still hate touching raw meat and wash my hands compulsively everytime I touch it even if I have to touch it again.

cows with guns cars & more!

Barnyard. The cows rebel. ^^;;

( Lyrics to cows with guns )

And lookie… Tim Burton’s making a new movie with (guess who?) Johnny Depp looking like one of the Nightmare Before Christmas characters. It’s called The Corpse Bride. Looks like fun, and it seems like Danny Elfman’s doing the soundtrack!

Then there’s this (Pride and Prejudice)… Not sure how I feel about it. (The trailer music’s great… it’s from Love Actually! The final few love scenes ^_^) The cast list is impressive, but… Mr. Collins doesn’t look odious enough. It’ll be hard to top the 1995 A&E production in any case… and I want to see this out of curiosity. And fear.

lyrics: Take Me Away

I need to be more social. Until I feel up to human society, however, I’m quite content to stay on my own in my apartment and in the library. Oh, the consequences of social backlash and living at home.

I’m going home for the weekend, I suppose and returning sometime on Monday. I need to retrieve some more clothes, save the fur-ends, and grab my daily show backups. Yeah… maybe buy some DVD-Rs. And hang out with Wi-ying if we can coordinate our times.

Now, lyrics to “Take Me Away” by Lifehouse. Why are their songs so good? WHYY?? It’s right up there with “Spin” and “Breathing” and… oh hell, most of their songs are unbelievably good.

( lyrical goodness )

It calmed me down from my murderous rage. Just kidding about the murderous part.

The elixir - er, genes, of life

This is a rather significant development: the ability to regenerate limbs & organs!

I thought of Manji from Blade of the Immortal when I read about the cutting off bits of tails and stuff, O.o;; only this process wouldn’t involve the icky little worms and it probably wouldn’t be as quick.

Wow. Imagine the implications if this technology could be used in humans. You wouldn’t really have to care about getting a limb chopped off here and there in factories, or surgery to replace damaged organs… just regrow them! (This could make organ donation/harvesting obsolete, since people can simply Regenerate.) You could create a whole army of these self-regenerating people. It would be like an army of zombies because only a shot to the head or getting blown to bits could really kill them… (the brain can’t be Regenerated. oooh it sooo reminds me of Resident Evil.) I bet the conservatives will try to ban this sort of technology as well, given how they fussed like mad over stem cells. The less scrupulous governments would use it secretly and … this is the stuff that conspiracies are made of. Now if they’d only find a cure for every disease known to man and then we’d really be immortal.

And just because I feel like it - Google Moon. Try zooming in as close as you can… it’s wunderbar!
