non-depressing post :)

so amy says i tend to post rather depressing things after midnight/at night (my blog is on eastern time). hmm… well, this is a happy post.

we drove by a scientology place today and it reminded me of one ethics seminar when Ted was like… “i’m into scientology. just kidding.” and when the instructor said, ‘me too!’ ted goes, “well, i hope the aliens come for you.” ahahhahahaha…

finally swam today. because it was so hot and we were so bored. we tried to get sarabi into the pool.. but she waded in as far as her paws. it was very cute. and then my dad said, “sarabi, let’s go swimming!” and she DASHED away because she doesn’t like the chlorinated water. and carol, w/all the maturity of a 20 year old, started a fight with pool noodles. “stay in the deep end!” kekeke.

we went out for dinner at cheesecake factory. yay! cheesecake craving satisfied. and then we came home… we bought SNL best of Eddie Murphy & Les Miserables so yay! and now i’m watching Windstruck (sappy korean movie) again. to look for clues and stuff to My Sassy Girl… i didn’t think the guy in this movie was good looking at first, but he kinda grows on you.

randomness

i woke up today because my dog was scratching at my door. she hopped onto my bed and we went back to sleep for a good hour or so before my mother woke us up.

when we were at costco i saw a bottle of mango juiced labled “mighty mango juice” and i thought of eliz & john and Jack in the Box.

anita called today, which made me happy. but she used her brother’s phone so i was thoroughly confused until she identified herself. i can’t wait to go back to wellesley!

i think this is very funny: Angry Swedes & Fiberglass Cows

Happiness is… feeling very clean teeth and not having to visit the dentist for another six months. :-D (I’ve decided instead of the five things i like/dislike, it’s easier for me to list one thing that makes me happy.)

home again!

Am home again… yay! I finally have the 2nd mvt. of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto… thanks to my Heifetz cd. I also ripped the Kreisler CD w/the Devil’s Trill on it. I’m so tempted to rip all the classical cds we have… mwahhahhahaha… next up is Chopin…

so… home is good. cali’s more humid than idaho, but not as hot. I still haven’t unpacked. urgh… dunno how I’ll fit all my stuff… bleah. i think my room at home is actually smaller than the room in uidaho. grah. i want my old room in Lexington back!!!

My mom’s best friend Sue was visiting from MA, but she had to leave an hour after I got back. my dad’s on a business trip somewhere. and i think my mom’s taking me shopping soon. yay!!!

CSDS done!

I’m all done! ^_^ Presentations are over. Papers done. I’m going home TOMORROW! And then I’ll upload those photos I took yesterday… once I’m in a place with something better than dialup. In the meantime, I’m waiting for Monk to start.

More on this summer later… when I feel like rambling.

taline is a genius & other things

So I still maintain that Taline is a genius when it comes to art because she keeps creating these absolutely beautiful things. (and the portrait of Mr. Darcy in my room.)

In other news, we’re moving out of McConnel today. It’s amazing. I packed up all my stuff and it all fits!!! I have to ship a box of books home, but besides that I’m all set. weeee!!! Oh man… Although presentations are looming ominously close, I am in a surprisingly chipper mood.

The olympics, as always, are fascinating to watch. I saw the women’s 10m synchronized diving & bits of the men’s gymnastics. And apparently China has weight-lifters??? and they’re pretty damn good weight-lifters too!

summer olympics & all

Wow, so tonight was definitely one of our rowdier nights. I watched a few hours of the olympics. Yay China for winning synchronized diving. no surprise there. :-P and swimming was pretty cool… but DAMN gymnastics was amazing. those guys had SO much power… their arms were like… entire SPECIES. they did some impressive stuff… and they made it look so effortless too. anyway, apparently japan’s winning so far in the qualifying thing. but these scores don’t count yet for the actual medal, so anything can happen!

The opening ceremonies were AWESOME. I love learning about ancient greek culture, so it’s always great to see the acropolis & the parthenon… and they had a person dress up as Athena Parthenos (the statue of athena in the parthenon) holding a statue of nike & everything!!! and then they had people as classical greek statues. which was pretty damn cool as well. and they also had people dressed up like the pictures found in the Minoan ruins. Eeeeee…. I wish I could be there!! Too bad they didn’t hold the Olympics in Olympia. But Athens is just as good, I guess, because Athena was always my favorite goddess.
