[cut=`Last day! Shopping, haircuts!`]
My last day in Korea started in the early afternoon, as both Amy and I had given up on the idea of waking up early. Our plans for the day included getting our hair done, a quick trip to the underground shopping mall and Shinsegae department store, and dinner with people. Needless to say, not everything went according to plan.
The haircut had to be postponed as everyone at Juno hair was busy. Oh, Juno Hair is in the E-Mart store. Hehe.
Since neither of us had lunch, we decided to grab some food from the food floor of Shinsegae department store. There were European pastries, Korean food, kimchi, soybean drinks, cupcakes, cakes, traditional Korean sweets, sushi… and so on. I didn’t know what to pick!!! Ok, I knew I wanted watermelon juice again and some of those delicious smelling garlic bread baguettes with bacon baked in… but for lunch we ended up just getting some dumplings and Peking duck.
The dumplings were delicious, but the Peking duck was the most disappointing I’ve ever had. The sauce was all wrong and the duck was so bland. I was appalled.
We headed to the underground mall next, where booths stretched in all directions as far as the eye could see. There were so many choices that we just ended up ignoring most things. I got a pair of shoes with lime green detail (the same pair that I’d been eyeing at the COEX mall costing $40) for $10. Mwahahha. That purchase made me so happy. The mall didn’t just sell clothes, however. It sold housewares and lots of fake flowers as well.
And that was it… the end of my Asian Adventure.
