Capabilities & the Grad
WordPress is using capabilities. From the capabilities.php file, propagation of capabilities is not a problem, mostly because it’s not the type of capability system that we’ve been reading about in our security class. It’s more like role-based access control as capabilities are given through roles and not file descriptors, and users are limited to the number of roles they can be assigned to… There’s also no way to give capabilities to an individual user.
So, we looked a lot at the EVACs code tonight (or rather, last night) and found (what else?) that their documentation (or lack thereof) totally sucks. We went to the Grad (we being the EVACs group & Jeff). They had really uber cheap drinks, but I think they manage that by watering down everything so much that it’s more like drinking fruit juice. It was rather nice until they started blasting the loud music to imitate the whole club scene. My voice is totally gone from attempting to converse over that loudness. There was one guy who was either reaaaally drunk or really confident, as he danced in the most… well, strange way is a nice euphemism for it. I don’t like the Grad much. It’s a lot of sketchy guys & not as cozy & relaxing as the atmosphere of Little Prague. Where it’s quiet. (Except when that odd man sings.)
I didn’t get to have a crepe today. Perhaps Monday. Or I may break down and get over to Crepeville sometime this weekend if I feel that I’ve been especially productive.
